Spring 2014 (dates to be confirmed) - International Disaster Law Course for academics and practitioners, Sanremo, Italy

The IDL Project and the IFRC Disaster Law Programme will co-convene in spring 2014 the first joint "International Disaster Law Course". Aimed at graduate and post-graduate students, technical disaster management practitioners and individuals with an academic background in law, security studies, international relations or conflict studies, the Course will be structured in a 5 days all-encompassing programme with both practical and theoretical sessions. Within the annual conference organized by the Italian Red Cross in the field of International Humanitarian Law, dr. 17-19 May 2013 - I Course on "International Disaster Response Law", Sanremo, Italy

In partnership with senior officers of the Italian Red Cross National Commission on the Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law, the IDL Project Team organized the I Course on IDRL in Sanremo, Italy. Participants had been competitively selected among Italian Red Cross qualified IHL Instructors. The inaugural session of the course had been hosted by the International Institute of International Humanitarian Law in Sanremo, Italy, whereas the following lectures took place at the Italian Red Cross "Centro Logistico Militare" in Sanremo, Italy. Participants had the chance of familiarizing with fundamentals of IDRL through both lecturer-led and practical sessions.
