Students’ Mobility for Study

General Information

What’s all about

IThe Erasmus Community Program allows students to pass a study period abroad for minimum 3 to maximum 12 months in a European University. During this period it is possible to take exams that will be recognized by UNINETTUNO in Italy.

Basic principles for the recognition of activities carried on abroad

The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, in the respect of the national rules currently in force, uses the European Credits Recognitions System (ECTS), based on the Bologna Process.
The University engages in assuring the full recognition of training activities and internship carried on by its own students abroad on condition that it complies with what is provided for in the Learning Agreement approved on the basis of the transcripts of records received from the hosting Universities.
If the transcripts of records assess exams in terms of ECTS, the University recognizes a number of credits corresponding to the awarded ones. If the hosting University does not adopt the ECTS system, the Faculty Council will fix the number of equivalent credits acquired by the student, on the basis of the programs of the courses attended abroad and on the basis of the educational workload.

Benefits for the "Erasmus student"

By participating in the Erasmus program it is possible to obtain a financial aid to support the expenses incurred during the study period. In addition, the Erasmus Program assures the exemption from paying university fees to the hosting University and the right to benefit from its services (accommodation, any language courses, access to libraries etc…) supplied by the hosting University.

Before leaving

Filling in the Learning Agreement

The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO authorizes the mobility scheme only if there is a previous agreement between our University and the hosting University.
The student who has been selected for mobility will have to prepare a LEARNING AGREEMENT (study program), with the support of the International Mobility Office and the teachers of his own degree course. The Learning Agreement is an essential document with which the student and UNINETTUNO agree on what courses the student will follow in the hosting University.
The student has to submit 2 original copies of the Learning Agreement at least 30 days before leaving. The Learning Agreement has to be formally approved by the Dean of the Faculty or by a delegate, and by the person in charge of the International Mobility Office that will send it to the hosting University later on for acceptance.
The approved Learning Agreement can be modified before the end of the mobility period using the relevant forms.

Enrolling in the hosting University

Soon after resulting beneficiaries of a mobility scholarship, the students will have to enroll in the hosting Universities as “Erasmus students”.
ATTENTION! Every University has its own fixed deadlines and procedures to comply with for enrolling as an Erasmus student. The non compliance with these procedures and deadlines can entail the refusal by the hosting University to host the student and, consequently, the loss of the scholarship by the student.
Therefore, it is recommended to consult the Erasmus mobility section of the Internet site of the hosting University. In case of doubts it is possible to contact the University’s Erasmus managers.

Checking entry and healthcare rules of the hosting country

The student has to autonomously check whether he possess the documents that are required to enter the hosting country.
In most European countries you only need an identity card that is currently valid, but in some countries, such as Turkey, you need a visa. In any case it is advisable to check all this!
In addition, it is advisable to enquiry about the healthcare services offered by the hosting country through the local healthcare agencies (ASL) or diplomatic representations.

Civil liability or injury coverage in the place of study

The winning applicants will be covered against civil liability risks (any damages caused to third parties) and against injury by the University’s insurance policy.

Enhancing one’s own language skills

One of the objectives of the Erasmus+ program is that of enhancing the mobility students’ language skills. In the purpose of helping students to acquire working language skills before leaving, a tool called Online Linguistic Support was realized. This tool is available in 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. The Erasmus student that will have to study using one of the above-mentioned languages as training language, will be able to use the Online Linguistic Support to check his own language skills before and after the mobility period as well as to enhance his language skills through special online courses.

N.B. : It is compulsory to fill in the language skills assessment questionnaire of the Online Linguistic Support and it is pre-condition to receive the mobility scholarship.
The number of licenses of use of the Online Linguistic Support is anyhow limited by the availability of Community funds. For all the students who will be unable to benefit from this service, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO offers, through its online platform, distance language courses. The courses currently running are:

  • English (level A1, A2, B1, B2)
  • French (Level A1, A2)
  • Spanish (Level A1, A2)

The University’s students who are involved in the mobility programs can attend, at distance, these courses to enhance their language skills.
Finally, it is advisable to check whether hosting Universities offer language courses to Erasmus students.

Finding an accommodation

Generally, the hosting University’s Erasmus Office can give suggestions on how to find an accommodation. In some cases, the hosting University can make available facilities of its own.
Before confirming the accommodation it is advisable to complete all the enrolment procedures to be sure to  be accepted by the hosting University. In addition, it is advisable that the period for which the accommodation is reserved coincide with the hosting University’s academic calendar in order to avoid paying a higher number of months than those required.
