Faculty Internships

The Faculty of Cultural Heritage offers two types of internal internships: on-site fieldwork and remote internships, both coordinated by academic staff and tutors to ensure a balance between theoretical training and practical activities.

On-site fieldwork internships allow students to take part in archaeological excavations, research activities in sites of historical or scientific relevance, or laboratory work in museums and archives. These experiences provide the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the degree programme and to operate within real professional contexts.

Remote internships offer a more flexible mode while maintaining a rigorous scientific approach. Activities may include thematic research, documentary analysis, and experimentation with digital methodologies applied to cultural heritage, allowing students to deepen transversal skills that are now fundamental in the cultural heritage sector.

For each internship type, a detailed overview is available, detailing objectives, requirements, available positions, organisational arrangements, and the ECTS credits awarded.

Available positions for faculty-based internships are limited. For each activity, specific prerequisites will be defined and a maximum number of participants established, based on the organisational and educational needs of the Faculty.

For some internships, a selection procedure is required through a dedicated call, communicated well in advance to students by the Secretariat of the Presidency. In all cases, the internship coordinator will carry out a selection of candidates based on the curriculum submitted.

It is not possible to register for more than one internship at the same time. In the application form, students may indicate only one preferred activity as their first choice and, if applicable, a second option among those available. In the case of applications for an internship already completed, priority will be given to students who have not taken part in previous editions of the same activity.

Once assigned to an internship for which they have applied, the student is required to ensure consistent and continuous participation in all planned activities, particularly in remote internships that require constancy and regularity. Failure to comply with this commitment will result in exclusion from the ongoing internship and ineligibility for future faculty-based internships.
