Specific objectives of the course
The Master's Degree Programme in Cognitive Processes and Technologies, offered in different specializations, is designed to provide advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge in the field of Psychology applied to technology. Through the study of emerging psychological phenomena in new human-machine interaction scenarios and in psycho-social intervention contexts, the programme offers advanced training in the design and operational areas of psychology. The adopted perspective is interdisciplinary, mainly delivered through online and multimedia teaching, integrating socio-cognitive, clinical, and neuroscientific approaches with the field of technology in order to foster a deeper understanding of human behavior.
The study plan includes three specializations:
- Clinical Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence
This specialization provides students with up-to-date and in-depth training on the theoretical, clinical, and methodological aspects of developmental psychology. It draws on well-established models from dynamic psychology, integrating them with the latest methodological and research references. Topics covered include typical and atypical developmental psychology, the use of technology and social networks, and interventions in child and adolescent psychopathology.
- Neuroscience
This specialization offers knowledge in neurobiology, neuroscience, and clinical practice, enabling graduates to acquire the skills and competencies needed to work in both clinical and research settings. The curriculum explores theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the biological foundations of mental and cognitive processes, starting from the functioning of nerve cells and moving on to the anatomy and physiology of major neural networks involved in cognitive processes, both under normal and pathological conditions, and their interrelations.
- Cyberpsychology
This specialization offers advanced training in the field of psychology applied to technology and artificial intelligence, aiming to provide updated knowledge on theoretical models and research paradigms for understanding the individual and social transformation processes stemming from interactions with new media. The knowledge and competencies acquired will enable students to analyze and co-design technologies that promote individual and social well-being, considering the various application areas of psychology.
Career Opportunities
The programme trains professionals in both communication and clinical fields, with expertise in the mind-brain system and human-machine interaction through the use of new technologies. Graduates will be able to operate in various educational contexts aimed at promoting and ensuring safe online interactions, as well as in clinical contexts focused on enhancing well-being and reducing psychopathological risks across different life stages.
