The States General of Memory Project and the UNINETTUNO University propose, for this edition of the 2021 Holocaust Memorial Day, a more-in-depth study of memory as a value and cornerstone of human activities.
Unfortunately, sanitary restrictions did not allow to make live interviews to renowned experts in the disciplines in which memory plays a relevant role, as it happened in 2019. For this reason, in the program of this edition, that is entitled A Memory without History and a History without Memory, we decided to re-propose to the public attention some of the lectures already realized, jointly with the screening of the move, Roma, una Breve Eternità (Rome a Short Eternity). This movie tells about the Nazi-fascist occupation of Rome from September the 8th to the Liberation that was achieved in 1944, but, since it is a work of fiction, the story takes place in the current times, on a psychoanalyst’s couch, who, beside trying to explain the Nazi-fascists’ racism, will have to deal with current denialism.
