CIDAS - Social Cooperative

Profile

Since 1999, CIDAS Social Cooperative has been working for social innovation through continuous research and implementation of good practices, which are key factors for social development. Over the years, we have been developing new services in the areas of migration, education, intercultural dialogue, social cohesion and work inclusion, through a constant networking with citizens, associations and public bodies.

CIDAS’s Migration Area, one of the cornerstones of the cooperative, daily promotes reception, protection and integration activities for refugees and asylum seekers. Since 2006, we have been taking care of migrants fleeing war and persecution. We developed a model which encourages refugees and asylum seekers’ self-reliance and creates a positive social impact with hosting communities. Role in the Project

CIDAS represents one of the most important organizations active in Italy and committed in the reception, support and integration of third country nationals, with specific reference to refugees and asylum seekers. Furthermore, and for this reason, CIDAS is considered a first-level player also by the public sector (at local, regional and national level) and experts from the cooperative’s Migration department are stably called as advisors by the relevant institutions (Ministry of the Interior, Municipalities, intermediate bodies) to discuss policy adjustments and improvements.

In REBUILD project CIDAS will be, like the other NGOs involved, the operational partner directly representing the voice of immigrants, that is a core value of the whole project and one of its main assets in order to ensure a user oriented approach. At the same way, CIDAS will be involved in the experimentation of the tools provided by REBUILD, thanks to the possibility of the direct involvement of the final beneficiaries.
