The Master’s Course is the outcome of a collaboration between the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and the NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, and aims at training highly qualified professional profiles able to manage the juridical, economic and technological dynamics related to the fashion and textile system.

Description

In the academic year 2022/23 the new Master's Degree Course in Fashion Law will start, outcome of the cooperation between the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. Thanks to its innovative blended formula, which includes both online activities on UNINETTUNO's e-learning platform and face-to-face activities at NABA’s campus in Milan, the course aims at training professional profiles able to manage in a systematic and multidisciplinary way the legal, economic, technological and marketing dynamics related to the fashion and textile system, both at national and international level, paying attention to the aspects related to (environmental, economic and socio-cultural)  sustainability and to digitalization.

Educational Objectives

During the Master students have the opportunity to:

  • understand the contents, the expressive languages and the tools of the different disciplines that revolve around the Fashion System, from economics to law, from e-commerce to new fashion technologies, including digital markets, NFTs and the Metaverse
  • acquire skills in terms of brand identity and brand value with a focus on the characteristics that define the value of  the Made-in-Italy
  • develop an aptitude for teamwork and management of problems and case studies in real contexts

"Look at the study program”

This Master’s Course consists in an intensive course that allows students to deepen their knowledge through theoretical and laboratory courses related to processes, markets and retail management in an interdisciplinary and constantly evolving scenario.
The course is divided into 6 modules that range from the knowledge of the Italian and international fashion and textile supply chain to the study of the main forms of commercialization in terms of contracts and legal protection; from intellectual property to the dynamics of digital marketplace and e-commerce up to the evolution and application of sustainability in terms of circular economy from the respect of the environment to the supply chain.

Luca Belotti

NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti

Course Leader of also NABA Two-year Masters of Arts in Fashion Design and Textile Design, his way of teaching takes account of various aspects of the Fashion field: from project management to visual communication, passing through illustration, styling and exhibition setting.
These skills are the result of his educational background and of the collaboration with some of the most influential artists, designers and writers of the Italian scene such as Benedetta Barzini, Mariuccia Casadio, Eleonora Fiorani, Matteo Guarnaccia, Alessandro Guerriero, Nancy Martin, Angela Missoni, Cinzia Ruggeri, Shingo Sato and Alberto Zanoletti. For years, he has been in charge of the contests and special projects with companies, web communication and events of the NABA Fashion Area. Among his recognitions: publications on Glamour IT, Vogue Talents, exhibitions at Palazzo Giureconsulti (Milano) and Vicenza Oro Evolving Jewelry fair (Vicenza), and finalist at Fashion Up Ronca Style Award (Verona).

Francesca Maschio 
International Telematic University UNINETTUNO

International lawyer, tenured researcher, Professor at UNINETTUNO, Contract Professor at the London School of Business and Finance, the Berlin School for Business and Innovation and the University of Rome "Roma Tre", Faculty of Law.
She graduated from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Faculty of Law (with honors) and obtained a PhD in "Intellectual Property Law" at the University of Padua. Lawyer since 2001, she has a wide international experience on negotiation and taylor-made drafting of international contracts, intellectual property, fashion law, artificial intelligence, data protection, cybersecurity.

Patrizio Bernardo

Patrizio Bernardo - Modulo II: Law in act for the fashion industry

Patrizio Bernardo has 20 years of experience in the field of labor law.
He assists domestic and international clients in labor and social security matters on a daily basis, within large international groups, medium-sized companies, and public utilities. He assists clients in both in-court and out-of-court labor disputes on the full range of labor and employment law issues, including litigation on labor-supply agreements and litigation with unions over unfair labor practices or store stewards' rights. He also assists clients in drafting company policies on ethics and discipline.

For UNINETTUNO and NABA's Master in Fashion Law, he will deliver his lectures specifically in the area of the role of International Labor Standards in the global fashion industry.

Sara Cavagnero

Sara Cavagnero – Modulo V: Sustainability in Fashion System
UNINETTUNO / Northumbria University

A PhD from Northumbria University and a registered IP lawyer, her work has focused on the use of IP assets as private sustainability governance tools and the legal implications of doing so.
Her analysis is framed within the SME perspective and focuses on suppliers along the value chain. She is also involved as an expert in the UN/CEFACT project "Enhancing Traceability and Transparency for Sustainable Value Chains in Garment and Footwear".
Finally, she holds the role of Law & Sustainability Specialist, as well as being one of the co-founders of the NGO collective rén, a platform that provides sustainable fashion SMEs with networking opportunities and viable options for industry restoration.

For the Master in Fashion Law at UNINETTUNO and NABA, she will deliver her lectures particularly in the area of "Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Management," on the European legislation of "EU Green Deal" and "EU Textile Strategy," on sustainability measurement and environmental impact, and on the risks related to green claims.

Massimo Chiais

Massimo Chiais - Modulo II: Law in Act for the Fashion System

Massimo Chiais joined the Studio Legale Delfino and Associates Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in 2003 and became a partner in 2006.
Massimo Chiais has over twenty-five years of experience, during which he has advised institutional and industrial clients, in a variety of sectors, some of them highly regulated.
He has specific experience in the luxury & fashion, furniture, logistics and transportation, and steel industries, as well as in the automotive and petrochemical sectors, having been, among others, a member of the Legal Affairs Department of the ENI Group.

For the Master in Fashion Law at UNINETTUNO and NABA, he will hold his lectures particularly in the real estate field with a focus on department stores, concession agreement and travel retail.

Stanislao Chimenti

Stanislao Chimenti - Modulo II: Law in Act for the Fashion System

Stanislao Chimenti assists clients in civil, bankruptcy and corporate litigation, as well as out-of-court transactions before independent authorities and in national and international agreements.
His clients are large, medium and small, public and private, national and international companies operating in the telecommunications, publishing, transportation, television and film production, as well as insurance, banking and real estate sectors.
Stanislao is a member of the International Insolvency Institute and is fluent in English, French and Italian.
Stanislao Chimenti has been given several assignments by the Ministry of Economic Development as a commissioner in relevant insolvency proceedings and member of expert commissions. He also carries out academic activities teaching in several Italian state and private universities.

Bruno Cova

Bruno Cova - Modulo II: Law in Act for the Fashion System

Bruno Cova Cova is a partner in the corporate department of the Studio Legale Delfino and Associates Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, restructuring, and litigation, including transnational litigation.
Bruno Cova Cova began his career at international law firms in Milan and London, and then served as General Counsel of the Exploration & Production Division of Eni SpA, Chief Compliance Officer of EBRD and General Counsel of Fiat S.p.A., as well as Chief Counsel of the Extraordinary Commissioner appointed by the Government to deal with the restructuring of the Parmalat group, the largest financial fraud in Europe. Since 2005 he has returned to private practice.
Since 2012, Bruno Cova has been one of three experts advising the Corporate Governance Committee of companies listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.

Maurizio Delfino

Maurizio Delfino founded the Italian office, Delfino and Associates Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in 2000. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, equity capital markets, corporate governance, and corporate reorganization and restructuring.
Mauriziohas advised foreign and Italian investors on some of the most important transactions that have taken place in Italy since 2000, such as: assisting EDF in the acquisition of Montedison, the acquisitions of Teksid Aluminium from Questor, Bayerische Vita from Ergo, Lucchini from Severstal, Costa Smeralda from Qatar Investment Authority and many others.

Maria Luigia Franceschelli

Maria Luigia Franceschelli – Modulo IV: Digital Law in the Fashion System

Maria Luigia is currently a Senior Associate at the law firm Hogan Lovells. She handles out-of-court and in-court counseling in the areas of advertising, unfair competition, trademarks, patents, design and copyright.
He also handles drafting of contracts, deeds and pleadings, strategic opinions, cease and desist notices and settlements, as well as enforcement, due diligence, clearance and opposition proceedings.
She has a particular focus on Fashion Law and digital marketing.

Massimo Palombi

Massimo Palombi – Modulo II: Law in Act for the Fashion System

Massimo Palombi is counsel of the Studio Legale Delfino e Associati Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and practices in the areas of M&A, corporate and business law, getting involved in transactions concerning different sectors, including infrastructure, chemicals, aerospace, media and IT, food and luxury products.
Massimo Palombi has significant experience in the field of distribution law (drafting general terms and conditions, distribution agreements, agency agreements, e-commerce) and regularly assists Italian and international companies in drafting their distribution agreements or in ex post analysis of such agreements in the context of acquisition transactions.
Massimo Palombi has recently been involved in a number of matters pertaining to companies operating in the luxury world and has developed a particular knowledge of these sectors, including IP issues.

Anna Laura Pettoello
