Content language:English
Course description
“Technical English" aims to develop a working level of language skills as close as possible to an intermediate level of English language and jargon (CEFR level B2). It is mandatory for all first-year students. Technical English course will deal with an intermediate level of English and additional specialised language providing a selection of technical topics. With specific related vocabulary and grammar, students will be trained to improve their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills about the language in general and technical contexts.
Prerequisites
Prior English communicative competence at CEFR level A2.
Objectives
The course is intended to provide morphosyntactic and phonological structures of English language, in order to develop learners’ overall communicative competence through the four language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Moreover, it will focus on technical lexis, and semantic and grammatical aspects of the specialised language.
