Course description

Visual Merchandising & Creative Direction is an exciting and engaging module which will equip participants with the necessary tools to both fully understand the integral importance and the processes of Visual Merchandising, and Creative Direction within the retail arena, both commercially and creatively.

 

All platforms within the industry will be covered in detail- windows, in store creative, visual merchandising and online visual merchandising. The lecturer has strong close industry links ensuring the module is relevant and current, assisting with future employability.

 

It is a flexible module in that it will both equip, and be customised to, participants whatever their chosen career path within the retail arena.

Objectives

The aims of this module are to:

 

  • To learn what ‘best visual merchandising’ and creative window design look like;
  • To learn the skills to be able to evaluate,critique and present back the above;
  • To learn how to successfully mix commerciality and creativity to achieve best commercial results;
  • To learn and understand how integrally important Visual Merchandising and Creative Direction can be to effect and steer the brand;
  • To assess how important the correct store location can be and the effect it can have on a brand and its identity;
  • To learn and understand Multi site & international Visual Merchandising needs;
  • To learn how Visual Merchandising & Creative Direction can contribute to a cohesive 360 degree marketing approach and how it is integral to a brands success and it's clear identity;
  • To learn how to successfully plan and strategise a successful Visual Merchandising store plan layout.
