Περιγραφή μαθήματος

The entrepreneurship module will cover all aspects of business development and planning which underpin business success and sustainability in the fashion sector. Business plans will be developed and appraised within the context of the wider economic, competitive, technological, social, and global environments

Businesses will be evaluated and the reasons behind both success and failure examined.

Students will evaluate the concepts of innovation and differentiation in business. Students will be able to recognise the key reasons which indicate the right conditions to launch a new venture including the most suitable business formation, sales channel and product. The final part of the module will require students to develop a sound, viable business plan to launch their own venture.

Στόχοι

The aims of this module are to encourage students to:

 

  • Develop the skills, behaviours and capabilities required to be an entrepreneur
  • To cover all aspects of business development and planning required for building a sustainable fashion business
  • To understand the key building blocks of developing a new business
  • To undertake due diligence and research to assess viability of a business plan
  • To understand the importance of developing sustainable relationships
  • To develop systems and practices to facilitate planning and development
  • To equip students with negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • To develop a clear positioning and competitive proposition strategy
  • Be able to recognise the key reasons to launch a new venture, together with the most suitable business formation, sales channel and product
  • Understand the creative processes of trend forecasting and fashion product development.
  • To develop a broad knowledge of budget and costings
  • Identify market opportunities in the industry,
  • Understand 21st century, global business challenges and how to respond to these during the start up phase.
