The course aims to provide an overview of the social and cultural transformations conveyed, in contemporary societies, by the emergence and spreading of new media. More specifically, it analyzes the cultural implications of new communication technologies with particular reference to the Web. |

By the end of the course, the student will have a general knowledge of the main theoretical approaches that have developed in the social sciences in connection with the emergence of new media, as well as new interpretive trends about the study of new media in the different contexts of social life. |

The course starts from a description of the new global context and develops through the concept of integrated communication through the various aspects with particular focus on new communication technologies and communication with social networks. |
