Cairo, today, 8 th  October 2012, in the premises of the Helwan University the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Moustafa El Sayed Mosaad, jointly with the Rector, Prof. Maria Amata Garito, award the degrees in Information and Communication Technologies Engineering to the Egyptian students who graduated at the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO.

The institutions of both Countries attach great value to this event at cultural and political level. Actually, for the first time, these students are awarded a study title recognised in Italy, in Europe and in Egypt thanks to the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, the only distance university in the world that, further to an agreement with the Egyptian Government, allows the acknowledgement of the study title obtained studying on the distance mode on the Internet and on television.

The Ceremony is chaired by the Minister of Higher Education of the new Egyptian Government, Prof. Moustafa El Sayed Mosaad, who is in charge of the educational policies of the Muslim Brotherhood'' Freedom and Justice Party. It was the Minister himself who decided to attend this Ceremony, after assessing the very good results achieved with the programme of cooperation between Helwan University and the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO.

The Egyptian students study without moving from their own country by means of the distance teaching model of the portal  www.uninettunouniversity.net , the only one in the world where teaching and learning are carried out in 6 languages: Italian, Arabic, English, French, Greek, and Polish. These students had the opportunity of spending a training period in some Italian ICT companies and of continuing cooperation relations even after they came back to Egypt .

Presently, we have 200 Egyptian students enrolled in our university; in the last year there were 53 graduates and among these last ones, 75% have already got a job in European companies based in Cairo and in Egyptian companies working in the field of technological innovation; 9% of them decided to continue their studies in the United States; 13% of them are currently doing their military service.

“A true shared network of knowledge is born. –  Maria Amata Garito, Rector of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, explains  – Our model of cooperation with Egypt is undoubtedly a success model that makes us hope and that offers to young Arabs the opportunity to acquire the skills allowing them to access a market of labour, which hopefully will not see any longer a desperate migration, but a flow of human resources that will contribute to the socio-economic development of the Arab world and European countries. Together were are creating our future capital, the immaterial capital of knowledge”.
