Course description
The course is aimed at studying and analysing the evolution of the Italian Literature, of courtly poetry and romance of the 13th Century up to the great age of the Italian novelists of the Twentieth Century. The student will get to know literature in its historical evolution, the development of the personalities who mostly inspired it and of the texts that represent the milestones of its growth.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites are requested to attend this course.
Objectives
The course is aimed at supplying a broad overview of the Italian Literature and giving the students the tools enabling them to acquire critical skills to understand and assess the presented texts.
Program
The course is focused on the knowledge of authors and of the main movements of the Italian Literature. Concepts and general issues will be accompanied by a critical and linguistic analysis of collection of anthological texts
Book
It is recommended to use a good anthology that is used in secondary schools. We suggest that by Guglielmino – Grosser.
Exercises
During the lessons the students’ learning progress will be assessed and during the virtual classroom sessions, held by the tutors, there will be the opportunity for more in depth study.
