Course description
The course of the energy systems management aims to provide students with the basics, the tools and methodologies to address energy and environmental issues in civil, residential and industrial, with the aim to reduce costs and to provide for the sustainable development services and processes.
Prerequisites
Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, of Electrical and Technical Physics.
Objectives
Provide knowledge on national and international legislation on energy efficiency. Provide expertise on energy certification of buildings. Provide expertise on energy diagnostics. Providing knowledge on energy production from renewable sources and related incentives. Provide knowledge on Smart Grid. Provide information on the role of the Energy Manager and Expert in Energy Management.
Program
The course is divided into three parts. Is initially provided to the student an overview of the main laws and regulations at national and international level in the field of energy efficiency and the company provides tools for evaluating energy efficiency and environmental impact, with particular reference to the energy certification of buildings. In the second part of the course, after short plant calls, it shows the main technologies for the exploitation of renewable energy sources and techniques to improve the efficiency of existing plants, as well as the economic mechanisms that promote these solutions. They also provided some background on the home automation systems and their applications for energy efficiency. In the last part of the course presents the figures that operate in the energy sector. They are then presented case studies of interventions for improving energy efficiency in the civil, residential and industrial.

Exercises
The course evaluation methods are structured by two tests of intermediate testing, which will be delivered by UNINETTUNO platform and evaluated by the Teacher / Tutor. Such verification tests, wider than the self-assessment exercises, will focus on the topics of the course and will be composed of several problems and exercises. The final evaluation test consists in the development of one of the macro subjects that comprise the course or any part thereof, where the student, without the aid of books or notes, will demonstrate full knowledge of all the issues which characterize the proposed theme and show with examples pertaining to the mastery.
