Fundamentals of databases • Information Systems and Databases • Database Management System Architecture • Conceptual and logic database design • Conceptual Models: • The Entity-Relationship Model (ER), The Extended-Entity-Relationship Model (EER) • The relational model: relations and tables, relational algebra, integrity constraints • SQL: DML and DDL in SQL • SQL queries • Integration of SQL in programming languages • Transaction optimization • Sample DBMS: MySQL, MS Access
