Go-ahead for the agreement between the UNIVERSITY OF ROMA TRE and the INTERNATIONAL TELEMATIC UNIVERSITY ‘UNINETTUNO’ This afternoon, Prof. Maria Amato Garito, President of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and the Rector of the University of Roma Tre, Prof. Guido Fabiani, signed a five-year agreement for the joint realisation of distance university courses, master’s courses and high specialisation level and vocational training courses in an international and technological exchange perspective.
12/20/2007 Maria Amata Garito, President of UNINETTUNO: “The challenge is to fill our University campus on Second Life like and even more than discos” The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, the University of Roma Tre and the Virtual Italian Parks, the Italian academic and technological excellence poles in the field of distance university education and communication by the new media celebrate the New Year on SECOND LIFE A great year-end Ball on Second Life, organised by the INTERNATIONAL TELEMATIC UNIVERSITY UNINETTUNO and by the UNIVERSITY OF ROMA TRE, in collaboration with the VIRTUAL ITALIAN PARKS, to celebrate the arrival of 2008 with the Italian and foreign students’ avatars. The “virtual” party, but not only, was held today, Thursday the 20th December on the island of knowledge of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, the first Italian university that has realised a virtual campus on Second Life, and that has involved hundreds of students and teachers from all over the world who took part in the event with their avatars, the virtual character to which one entrusts his own identity on Second Life.

12/12/2007 The Summit of the Nobel Peace Laureates in the Mediterranean TVs thanks to the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO This year too the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO will broadcast on its satellite television channel, RAI NETTUNO SAT 1, the World Summit of the Nobel Peace Laureates, that is going to take place in Rome, in Campidoglio, from the 13th to the 15th December. The Summit days, that reached its eighth edition, will be broadcast in their integral version on RAI NETTUNO SAT1 that covers the whole Euro-Mediterranean area thanks to Hot Bird satellite (that in Italy can be watched on the Sky 822 channel).
10/11/2007 The Head Francesco Paravati will receive a special mention in the framework of the national journalistic award “Press Agent of the Year” in Matera (Italy) UNINETTUNO International Telematic University Press Office Awarded for Promoting Dialogue in the Mediterranean Area UNINETTUNO International Telematic University press office will be among the prizewinners of the 2007 edition of the “National Award for Journalism” devoted to the professionals of the press offices. The special mention ''Press Agent of the Year'' for the ‘Culture, Art, Entertainment and Sport” sector will be given for “for his deep commitment in promoting dialogue among the Countries of the Mediterranean Area through television and the new technologies”. These are the grounds that led the jury of the National Award for Journalism, including university teachers, journalists and personalities of the Communication sector, to give to Francesco Paravati, Head of the UNINETTUNO International Telematic University press office, a special mention during the award-giving ceremony that will take place on Friday, the 12th and Saturday, the 13th October in Matera (Italy).
8/23/2007 On Friday, August the 24th, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO will sign an important academic agreement in Tunis Joint university degrees between Italy and Tunisia According to Rector Garito: “A cultural operation that allows for democratising knowledge and that paves the way to dialogue among the new generations of Europe and of the Arab World“ Studying in one’s own country and getting a study title recognised in Europe and in Italy and in Tunisia: a dream that comes true for many students thanks to an agreement that will be signed on August the 24th in Tunis by the Rector of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, Maria Amata Garito and by the Rector of Tunis Virtual University, Houcine Chebli.
4/18/2007 Great success in Jordan during the final step of the project funded by the European Union: 25 students won the free enrolment to the first distance Master in European Culture in 4 languages OPEN SKY EUROPE: 150 young graduating of 8 MEDA Countries discover Europe thanks to the UNINETTUNO University The Rector of the International Telematic Atheneum. Prof. Garito: “We offer to young people the instruments for deeper knowledge the past, better live the present and look together to the future of the Europe and the Mediterranean Area” Today in Dead Sea, in Jordan, Jordan it took place the great final ceremony for the start up of the e-learning Master in European Culture, Open Sky Europe, promoted by the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and funded by the European Union as part of the “Euromed Regional Communication” program. The event raised up the dialogue between culture and is addressed to young graduates of Universities of MEDA Countries, in order to open them the doors towards the new world of labour and of the mutual knowledge between the South and North area of the Mediterranean. Europe and European Union, their policy, culture and history reach the new generations of the Euro Mediterranean Area thanks to the lessons of important protagonists of the recent European history and by international famous professors who deliver videolessons in four languages, Italian, French, English and Arabic and broadcasted through the website of the master: www.uninettunosrl.net/openskyeurope.
2/21/2007 The Tunisian Minister of Higher Education visits the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO to know about the e-learning system Consolidation of a new cultural space between Italy and Tunisia which by 2009 is called to bring to 20% the rate of university courses that will be delivered at distance His Excellency Mr. Lazhar Bououni, the Tunisian Minister of the University, Scientific Research and Technology has visited the headquarters of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO to get to know the distance model experimented by the Rector, Prof. Maria Amata Garito and discuss about an academic agreement between the universities of both countries. The Tunisian Minister of the University, who yesterday morning met his Italian counterpart, M. Fabio Mussi, has been positively impressed by the educational model based on the Internet and on television: “Italy, thanks to UNINETTUNO University, is the pioneer of distance teaching, confirming its traditional cultural openness toward the Mediterranean Countries giving the possibility of studying in four languages with the best European and Arab professors”.
1/26/2007 The Italian Culture at the 39th round of the Cairo International Book Fair – Jan 23rd through Feb 4th UNINETTUNO University Among the Guests of Honor at the Most Important Book Fair in the Arab World The Rector of Uninettuno Prof. Maria Amata Garito will participate in the round table discussion on “Cultural Particularity and Information Society” Italy will be the guest of honor at the 39th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, one of the most important publishing events on the international level for the number of publications, publishers and visitors. The honorary participation of the Italian culture, had to be represented by UNINETTUNO, the International Telematic University, the first Euro-Mediterranean distance university which transmits courses in four languages (Arabic, English, French and Italian) on the portal www.uninettunouniversity.net and on its satellite channels RAI NETTUNO Sat 1 and RAI NETTUNO Sat 2.
