Objectives

The objective of the project is the internationalization of the courses of particular relevance that will open to both students and citizens in the countries of the Universities partners of the project. The project aims to implement two different models of international virtual seminars: a number of seminars that will take place during the academic year and a summer school that lasts a week. The sustainability of each model will be assessed. Furthermore, the purpose of the project is the creation of a network of educational institutions closely related with regional networks in order to encourage the involvement of citizens.
Through the content development realized on two levels (on the one hand on the general European level and on the other hand on the local level) the European identity will be strengthened, but, at the same time, the local aspects will be enhanced. VENUS intends to be an example of international collaboration between educational institutions, enterprises and citizens at the global level.

Approach:

From the organizational point of view, each partner will select an “European” topic to contribute: education of students, citizens and workers. Each partner will invite a topic expert, which will held the seminar jointly with an expert “inside” the organization (“local moderator”). To reach a wider rage of users, each partner will activate its own network. Each seminar will consist of three parts: preparatory interactive activities, seminar (presentation, localisation and debate), and interactive follow-up activities.

Description of the project

Realization of an “Enlarge Faculty”, which will repeated in each university partner that participate in the process of learning materials development (including a modular Handbook on the organization of virtual seminars).

Role of NETTUNO

NETTUNO is a leader for the Work Package 5: “Multilingualism, Multiculturalism and decentralization – content localization”. Multicultural and multilingual aspects represent a theme of central importance and, therefore, the activities of this Work Package are organized independently compared to the other packages. Since this theme is a central, the results of the activities will have an impact on the entire project. The activities envisage the establishment of a working group that should provide appropriate answers to the challenge of multiculturalism. The results of the WP will focus on the guidelines for the multiculturalism and multilingualism for the university network environment. In addition, the contents contained in the guidelines will be organized as a module to be included in the Handbook on the organization of virtual seminars.
NETTUNO is also involved in the other Work Packages.
