THE INTERNATIONAL TELEMATIC UNIVERSITY UNINETTUNO (hereafter referred to a UTIU), based in Rome (Italy), Corso Vittorio Emanuele II n. 39 (Tax Code Nr. 97394340588), in its capacity of “Holder of the Treatment” communicates you, in compliance with art. 13 of the Legislative Decree nr. 196/2003, the following information concerning the treatment of personal data that you will be asked to provide upon registration of the new account for accessing the restricted area of the administrative secretariat on the website: “http://uninettuno.esse3.cineca.it/Start.do” and upon matriculation to the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and, later on, to benefit from whole exemption from payment of the university fees as established by the Italian law or from any reductions provided for by agreements and contracts undersigned by the University with specific associations or boards.
1. Nature of the treated data and aims of the treatment.
UTIU handles the student’s personal data (mainly those related to his identity, addresses, diplomas and results achieved in previous studies) in order to be able to deliver distance courses and to carry on University institutional and administrative activity in order to meet contract obligations that is to meet specific requests made by the student during his degree course of for promotional activities of post-degree study courses, comprised in art. 3 of the Ministerial Decree nr. 509/99 or to meet specific obligations established by law, included those of fiscal nature as well. As it regards the treatment of personal data connected to the above-mentioned aims the student’s consent is not required.
In addition, the UTIU will also be entitled to treat the student’s personal data for managing activities linked to training periods, internships and job placements, also further to the awarding of the title to transfer it to third parties for the exclusive purpose of promoting business activities. However, as it regards the personal data treatment aimed at these last activities the student’s consent is required.
Finally, among the student’s personal data, we include also “delicate” data (such as, for instance, information related to disability percentage for the purpose of fees exemption or the membership to political parties, trade unions, associations or organisation having a religious, philosophic, political or trade union nature with which the University undersigned agreements or contracts), in this case the UTIU will handle these “delicate” data further to the consent of the student’s and further to a specific request in order to exclusively comply with legal or contractual obligations.
2. Treatment modes.
All the student’s personal data are handled through the use of computer-based and manual (use of paper-format supporting documentation) tools in a lawful and fair mode for the purpose of achieving the aims mentioned above and will be protected by adopting suitable security measures that can assure their confidentiality, integrity, exactness, availability and updating.
After the completion of the university course the student’s personal data will be kept for period of time no longer then that one that is required by the aims for which they were collected and further on handled.
3. Nature of the data transmission.
The transmission of personal data is strictly linked to the execution of the contract relationship and derives also from a legal obligation; in case of refusal any contract appointment shall not be started or completed and this shall represent a fair motivation to suspend or interrupt the relationship.
4. Subjects dealing personal data.
The treatment of the student’s personal data is carried on in premises of the University through personnel in charge of the use of the company equipments and the teaching staff. The UTIU can rely as well on external Managers dealing exclusively with the computer-based “E-Learning” and “Secretariat and Services to Students” platform.
Finally, the student’s personal data are communicated to boards or other public institutions only to meet specific legal obligations or Community rules; any other communication to third parties will be made by the UTIU only if it is required by the law or to comply with the contract undersigned with the student, that is further to his specific consent.
5. Rights of the concerned person.
The concerned person can claim the rights as per art. 7 of the Legislative Decree nr. 196\2003 and in particular request to the UTIU to confirm whether there are or there not any personal data of his own, their updating, amendment or, if he is interested, their integration, cancellation, modification into an anonymous format or blocking unlawfully treated data.
