RAI NETTUNO SAT: THE TELEVISION OF CULTURE
راي نتونو سات هو تلفزيون المعرفة والحوار بين الثقافات، يدرّس فيها أساتذة من أفضل الجامعات في العالم في 4 لغات: الإيطالية، والإنكليزية، والفرنسية والعربية.
في العام 2007 اغتنى جدول البث الخاص بالمحطة بدروس الفيديو المتصل ببرامج خاصة، مثل أول ماستر عن بُعد في الثقافة الأوروبية لشبان البلدان العربية، والنشاطات العلمية والرياضية لأكادمية لينشاي (روما- إيطاليا)، ومهرجان الرياضيات، ومهرجان الفلسفة، ومهرجان الآداب، ودروس مقدمة من قبل الفائزين بجوائز نوبل للسلام. فازت راي نتونو سات1 خمس مرات بجائزة "هوت بيرد" كأفضل تلفزيون فضائي ثقافي.
INAUGURATION OF THE NEW TECHNOLOGICAL POLE OF RABAT - MORROCCO
Rabat, the 14th March 2006: the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO inaugurated its Multimedia Technological Pole in Rabat, in Morocco; it is equipped with all the technologies required to attend distance courses and take part in the didactic activities by videoconferencing. Thanks to an agreement with the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training, in particular the Pole of Rabat will help in retraining and diffuse computer literacy among the civil servants of the Kingdom of Morocco. A new bridge is built to jointly create new ways of dialogue and cooperation among the Mediterranean Countries.
From Med Net’ U to the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO
Thanks to the results achieved by the European Project Med Net’U - Mediterranean Network of Universities – the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, the first Euro-Mediterranean distance university based on Italian technology and methodology, was born. Med Net’U, coordinated by Consorzio NETTUNO – Network per l’Università Ovunque – and funded by the European Commission in the framework of the EUMEDIS Programme ended with a great ceremony in Cairo, at Helwan University campus on the 25th July 2006. The Med Net’U Project saw the participation of 32 partners coming from 11 Mediterranean and European countries (Italy, Algeria, France, Egypt, Jordan, Greece, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey) and among them there were traditional universities, distance universities and vocational training centres. The best professors of the various universities involved, the videolessons and the Internet-based multimedia materials in four languages (Italian, Arabic, English and French) that were produced has been collected by the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO to which Med Net’U partner universities can now enrol their students. As a result, the students of the Arab world can enrol via Internet, follow the lessons comprised into the university degree courses in Engineering, International Law, Economics, Psychology and Cultural Assets choosing one among the 4 languages and studying on the portal www.uninettunouniversity.net and also on the RAI NETTUNO SAT 1 satellite TV channel, take the exams and get a degree recognised in Italy and in Europe.
Med Net’U Final Conference / Helwan University – Cairo, Egypt
In Cairo, on the 25th July, the Ministries of Education of several Arab Countries took part in the Final Conference of the Med Net’U Project that was coordinated by the NETTUNO -Network per l’Università Ovunque – and funded by the European Union. Thanks to the results achieved by the European Project Med Net’U - Mediterranean Network of Universities – the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, the first Euro-Mediterranean distance university based on Italian technology and methodology, was born. The great final ceremony held in Cairo, at Helwan University campus, was attended by Prof. Luciano Modica, Under-Secretary for the University, and Research, representing the Italian Ministry, Prof. Hany Helal, Egyptian Minister of the University and Research and the Rector of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, Prof. Maria Amata Garito. Just when this area is under the menace of winds of war, UNINETTUNO is building the future of the new generations. In the present historical period, the implementation of these models of cooperation among the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean Area has an importance that goes beyond the simple issuing of titles. Cooperating to jointly create the skills and knowledge is the way by which you can start new relationships and new models of dialogue and exchange. Prof. Maria Amata Garito, Rector of the International University stated: Thanks to the university and vocational training courses realised in four languages, including Arabic too, and thanks to the network of human and technological resources that we created, European and Arab students will be able to learn from their mutual cultures free from prejudices, whereas the universities will be able to show to the entire world the huge heritage belonging to the Mediterranean Area. A dream that has come true – concluded Prof. Garito – a project that has become a system and that allows us to jointly realise the new professional profiles that are most demanded by the global market of labour.”
Helwan University – Egitto – June 2006
The agreement between the University UNINETTUNO and Helwan University, Cairo, has been signed. Therefore, the Egyptian students will be able to receive a study title recognised in Egypt and in Europe. In Egypt, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO has opened a new Multimedia Technological Pole for distance education at Helwan University, thanks to an Agreement signed today by the Rector of the Italian University, Prof. Maria Amata Garito and by the Rector of the Egyptian Helwan University, Abdelhay Ebaid. The Technological Pole will give the Egyptian students the opportunity of getting a study title recognised in Egypt and in Italy as well. Prof. Maria Amata Garito, the Rector of the International University has stated: “The signature of these agreements is further step ahead towards the establishment of a dialogue among different cultures in the Mediterranean Basin. By the exchange of knowledge, human and technological resources it will be possible to re-create the huge historical-cultural heritage of the great civilisations of the Mare Nostrum”.
Malta Promo
In the beginning of February 2007 eight ministers and top officials of foreign affairs of the Euro-Mediterranean countries held their third informal meeting in Malta, at the heart of the Mediterranean. The Valletta meeting is the third of such meetings of Foreign Ministers of France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia. These informal meetings of the Euro-Mediterranean countries officials, held twice a year, started only in 2006 with a main objective of ensuring a constant Mediterranean perspective of the European Union’s policies and actions by discussing in an informal and transparent manner, issues of mutual concern to the citizens of these countries representing the southern borders of the European Union. As for the Agenda of the meeting it was topped the issues of illegal immigration, neighborhood policy, the Middle East Peace Process and included as well other issues like the future of Europe & European Energy Policy.
MedNet'U Euro-Mediterranean Distance University
Tunisia Promo
Tunis, on Friday the 24th August 2007 – an important academic agreement between the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and the Université Virtuelle de Tunis was signed. The Tunisian Universities will share with UNINETTUNO, curricula, study programmes, professors and teaching methods that will allow the mutual acknowledgement of the university degree titles. The students will complete their studies getting a university degree title acknowledged in Italy, Europe and Tunisia. The title will facilitate the access of young people into the global market of labour. According to the Rector Garito: “This is a cultural action that allows for the democratisation of knowledge and paves the way towards dialogue between the new generations of Europe and of the Arab World”. The ceremony took place at the Tunisian Ministry of the University and Scientific Research and Technology and was chaired by the Minister, Mr Lazhar Bououni, who after having analysed the distance education model, affirmed that Italy, thanks to UNINETTUNO University, is a pioneer in the field of distance education, confirming its traditional cultural openness towards the Mediterranean Countries.
